Yeah, flat screen TV down the bottom of the garden is what I used. One of the problems is that the transponder 11919H has frequencies very close to it on both 23.5E and 28E. Sometimes I have a better 69% reading, but every time I have had that, it has turned out to be the wrong satellite. I did it just looking for a moving picture yesterday.

well on my tec 1500+ there is still a picture until it goes anywhere below 40%, i remember wod once mentioned something very similar, i have also used an echstar 3000, its about 6 or 7 years old now and it still does the buisness for the the week sats like the mbc, as a matter of fact its on a par with the tek for holding the picture, a good old box, be it on the slow side however for turning the channels over. At the present moment i watch the mbcs with a strong 4375 whatever the box i can watch them with although the strong breaks up more easily, the 1500 and the echostar are the best ones i use. I have looked at lyngsat and i can see the problem some poeple have with catching the satellites like what you mentioned they are all 27500 and thats the problem , apart from one the palmedia 12738 h 2400 but that channel is just showing colour bars at the moment and about 50% signal, too low realy to search for. when i first got the 26e in, i had the same problem as a lot of poeple, catching other sats etc!, but using a monitor i started with something like a black picture on the monitor and starting from scratch with the signal at 0 and i had the one tv frequency inputted in the box and it was a case of just moving the dish very slowly and eventually i got one tv on the screen and then i tightened the nuts at the back of the dish and then it was a case of refining things. It was a chew on but once i got things done its been alright for me, the weather has been crap recently, windy etc!, but with the dish only 2 foot off the ground it really helps and it never moved the dish.

I think you may have different receivers. I have the TM-1500CI+super and too get no picture on signals below 60%. I have read posts where people are receiving pictures on the TMS-1500 at 40%. I know the tuner is reported to be more sensitive on the older TMS, but blind searching takes longer.

Not sure about the signal strength. I think they just have different calibration scales.

ie. 40% on the TMS = 60% on the TM.

yes the tek-1500 the one you have mentioned is the one i have got, but also i can get it on the echostar 3000 which is just as good for holding the picture and the strong 4375 and the fortec star lifetime ultra ( a real crap box)
