Default n*l:home 100 & n*l:home 120 modems

Hi all, I'm a newb here, so sorry if this is covered elsewhere in a guide that I haven't seen yet.

My current subscribed modem is an old silver modem, labelled underneath as an n*l:home 120 modem, I've also been given my cousin's old n*l:home 100 modem which he unsubscribed 2 years ago. Are these modem's "moddable"?

I was curious and tried logging in to 192.168.100.1 (just to have a look, not to change anything) and the "Infinite" account wouldn't let me login.

Anyone know much about these old modems? Thanks

Thanks for the info, but the 120 is my sub'd modem so I won't be hacking this. Is there a guide for the 100 modem? Thanks

Slacky, can you explain about the MAC addressing? The 120 I have is my sub'd modem and the 100 I have is an old one which was previously used in an area 8 miles from me (but within the same city).

This 100 modem was unsubscribed maybe 2 years ago. Will this modem be suitable for my area? I read something about needing a MAC address from a device somewhere near my area but I dont understand it?

If this 100 was used 8 miles from me and still has a MAC printed underneath it, will it be suitable? Do I just follow the entire procedure as listed on the site you posted the link for?

Thanks

I know this might sound like a daft question, but if I go to someone's house within 1 mile, would this be suitable? Other users I know are within 1 mile..
