Question broken??

ive heard that ps2s have been designed to break over time and that the big original ps2s constantly overheat. thats why the small ps2 came out. nearly all my friends have had problems with their ps2s and have gotten new ones. has anybody else have any problems or have an explation to this?

None of my friends or myself have had a problem. I even have one in my car and it works great! I have heard that though... I honestly hate the new one. I bought a new one to put in the car but I felt like I was going to break it so I changed the design of the sound system and installed the first larger one.

I have mine since they were $300 . And I have no clue how long ago was that .

But I have no problems with.

But I heard the the conectors for the controler get pushed in and damaged , and the cd laser readers brake . I have no clue why that happens with this Plastation . I had PS1 for a long time and it never broke .
But I do have a PS2 that I bought for $40 with the modem in it , and it has a broken laser . So I have to look at it and see WTH it could be , cause I'm interested in Why?

But My Grand Turismo 3 package PS2 works just fine .

Oh I don't like the new PS2b cause it's not a slot load anymore . it's a top load like the PS1 . That's fine for PS1 , but I would like the PS2 to keep that feature .

What you've heard is the biggest lie ever.

The Playstation 2 is a delicate piece of hardware and all delicate pieces of hardware break after a while, or a ton of use. The DVD lasers crap out after so much abuse, Do you think it was designed for 12hrs of straight use? for 50 straight days? I know mine wasn't lol. It abused it for 3 years straight and it finally died out. Keep in mind generally the only problems these systems have are the Lens. The new Slim PS2 is the one that has other problems. The A/C adaptor is defective and Sony has issued a recall for certain Playstation series models. Now if you want to talk about a serious bug, the first batch of Xbox's were the ones that overheated and caught on fire. Scary

Ive heard the most of the old ones that broke were ones that the user set on its side. This is what i did with mmine and sure enough it dosent work anymore I have looked online and found sites that give step by step directions on how to fix the problem. Im just waiting for some free time to try and fix it.

im sorry but i find that to be garbage. The only thing that could of happened is the lens got de-calibrated. I have had my console on its side for at least 2 years and its still kickin.
