Hi,
I work with vehicle electrics for a living and i'm going to mount my new Tomtom to my dash and wire it to the Vehicle electrics. I have the rds-tmc receiver with my Tomtom One V3. I've also purchaced an active holder and dashboard mounting bracket that clips over the central vents in my 2006 Vauxhall Vectra, As I don't like sticking things to the windscreen. The problem I have is that the tmc-rds receiver wire will not reach from the centre vents to the go up the side of the windscreen and would look very untidy. I was thinking about running the wire behind the plastic trim panel (strip) along the passenger side of the dash then it will reach about half way up the "A pillar" between the windscreen and the passenger door, I would tuck the wire behind the soft trim on the inside of the "A pillar" so none of the wire can be seen. Will this kind of installation of the tmc-rds receiver still work ok? There will be no metal parts above the wire shielding it, it will just be under the long plastic strip that runs along the dash and above the glovebox and under the passenger airbag. This strip panel just unclips. If this kind of installation will not work very good, is their a longer rds-tms receiver available? |
