Default Sun 21" Monitor Too Bright

Hi,
I have a 21" Sun (Sony) monitor GDM 5410. I bought this monitor a couple of days ago. It has two ports to connect to the pc one is an embedded DB13W3 connector which has a cable already and the other is a standard VGA. I connected my pc to the standard VGA. The monitor works fine but it has slightly too much brightness. I have set the brightness to 0 in the menu and still it is slightly bright. The black areas are not black it’s like dark blue. To combat this issue I have set the contrast to 80 which looks ok but it’s too much for the eyes. If I set the contrast and brightness to 0 then I can still see the desktop. I opened up the monitor to see if there is an adjustment switch but I couldn't find it. All I could find were the Focus adjustments.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know where the adjustment switch could be?

Info about the monitor can be found here: Monitor - 21-inch Flat Display Premium Color Monitor

Thank you

Don't know about the monitor but if you're running Windows you could try this tool.
