Question Is it that simple

I live in a veryu poor terretial reception area - I have good welsh reception but live and work in Granada region so what goes on in Cardiff is no use to me. I'm not a tv lover perhaps 5 hrs per week, but the mrs is and forever moans about the reception. I have loathed to get sky tv until sept 07 when they promised tv, broadband & phone for £19. Bargain, except they broke the promise and I told them to stick the deal up their a~~s.
So they did but left the ugly mini dish on the chimney.
I am now left with 3 choices - get a set of ladders and remove it. Use it for target practice using a variety of projectile weapons. Or make use of it.
I have too many hobbies to get as techie as you guys (I am techie but it involves h2o and 80 to 100 metres of it) but can I simply buy a receiver and plug it in to get free to air channels - i don't desire anything else?
If so can you recomend one?

Thanks in advance

OBTW - I am maxed out on terrestial antenna - I currently have a 5m pole and a freaking ugly cuboid contraption on the end of it & an umpteen Db amp and its still poo!

Yes you can, and if you get one of the well known models, we can help you set it up

And with a none sky box you can set the favourites up so you can watch whatever BBC & ITV regions you like, so if you really want to watch ITV Channel instead of ITV Cardiff, then you can do it dead easy

or you could get a second hand sky box and a FTA card from Sky for £20 and you will get all the free channels plus all the 4 and 5 channels.
