Default V+ Box Smart Card

Hi,
I wanted to know if you would require to have a virgin media smart card for a V+ HD box. Could you use any card (like fun card) where you can program the card and assign it to a V+ HD Box so that it would work like a proper virgin media card.

Thank you

You must have the original paired card to extract the ird and boxkey.

There no other way.

Wont you be able to get the ird and boxkey from the actual V+ box itself because normally it is written underneath the box?

Thanks for the quick replies. So you have to have an original smart card which is assigned to the V+ HD box. Then if you want to make a back up you can extract the ird and boxkey from the original smart card to any other cable cards like funcards.

Just a thought, normally I'm not a fan of messing with your subscribed kit but what are your thoughts on the following...

Unloop the card on your box to obtain BK / IRD details, then let the card be re-looped by the provider.
Now make a new card for the box and then find an invisible way to stop the box talking back when the glitched card is used.
Surely there must be someone that makes a device that stops talkback without attacking the circuit board in the box.

What do you think???????

50db reverse path noise blocker filter, they use them with tv drives, you can get them on fleabay, it goes in between cable looks like a splitter with just an in and out, easy enough to remove and replace when you need to.
