Broadband speed in my area:(

So ive moved fairly recentley and im looking for a new broad band provider in my area. Previously i was with bulldog for almost 2 years but there service has become disgracefull since being bought by pipex and later tiscali.

Im saddened to learn the maximum speed i can expect is 0.5 Mbps. Can anyone suggest anything I might be able to do to improve this. Im not even certain the information is reliable but I have used several post code search sites and they all come back with the same information.
