Currently they both open the same.
There has been more support for the Diablo Cam than the Dragon, in the past, but thanks to kinkdink the Dragon currently opens everything available.
We would need to know more about your receiver, for compatibility issues, and your set up, which satellites you can receive, to give firm advice.
Either way you will need a programmer, I recommend the Cas 3+, as this can program both the Diablo and Dragon Cam, as well as cards, so should be more flexible for future needs.

hi thanks the setup i have is as follows

VANTAGE HD7100TS-CI set top box
funke 1.0m dish with a MOTECK SG2100A DISEQC MOTOR

i was looking at the CAS3 programmer but was unsure of which cam to get. Both Cams apper to decrypt different ecryptions but i am unsure which would be the best. is there and benefits to one over the other

i can generally pick up most satalites from turksat 2A 42E to hispasat 30W i have more scope for more sats bu i find that this range has most of the channels i want to pick up, however any details on channels with new movies, football etc would be appreciated

thanks

I thought the Vantage receiver was patchable, if so a simple patch would give you everything that is currently available without the need for a cam.
Check if there is a patch for your model:

The first thread by satsid should help.

Currently open are the following packages:
Premiere 19.2E
Polsat, SRG and TPS 13E
Digi TV 1W
