Another time when i had the 3.1m Winegard dish on another place i lived.
I had the dish in the garden close to the neighbor, almost everytime the neighbor asked me when he saw me if i needed that big dish, oh yes i need it for AFRTS Global C-band beam i told him, i would need a 5 meter to be honest. Then he told me all other neighbors have much smaller dishes, yea right but they can't receive AFRTS either with their tiny dishes? I don't know he said. Baahh!! |

also by the way what wall mount was you going to use ? as i'm looking for one to do the same with mine |

The only problem is, I think it would take up most of my garden, and my would divorce me.

Robbo, say it's an anti-radiation shield to protect you all from global warming.
Whatever that is. ![]() ![]()

No it's not at all practical because the beamwidth is so small that every fifth day or so i had to realign the dish due to the ground moving despite having over 500kg of concrete that the stand was bolted to, we are talking 1/10 mm movement. You need dual-axis motors when your playing with these sizes. I would say 2.4m is the max for Ku-band with polarmount, anything above it will be just problems in the long run.
