Default I would not would you

A friend of mine wants me to install a 1.0m ASC signal/Andrew dish with polar mount at the rear of is house above the roof so out of goodwill he tells the lady (old bag) next door would he is going to be doing and she said she do not want it there now he is in two minds about installing it or not, I said f87k her and just install it as she can not do bugger all about it,

What would you do listen to the old bag next door and not install it or just install it,

Yep i'd tell her to go to feck aswell I get it all the time at work when we install a dish next to somebodies window

They complain like f**k and then hastle the installers when they haven't had the wall plates installed in their properties

Go for it, stick it in front of her bedroom window

I don't see how it is going to affect the old bag if it is above the roof line anyway, unless she spends all her time looking upwards.

Hahaha...when i had a house i moved to 15 years ago i had all my dishes with me and didn't know where to put them as i had three 2.4m SMC dishes and two 2.0m dishes so i put them against the wall of the house hidden away from the neighbors.

One day one of the neighbors came to say hello and he saw the back of the 2.4m dish and he told me "You aren't going to put that up are you?"

Nah, don't worry I told him.

1 month later i installed it on the terrace on the second floor of the house and the neighbor just saw the dish when he came home and he was like mental.

I had to remove it to some other place but he was just like crazy, telling me it disturbs his view from the kitchen window over the sea.

Some people are just nuts as soon as they see a dish whatever size it is.

My suggestion is to put up the biggest dish you can afford to take the hit with the neighbor, then you don't need to worry when they are getting used to it.

I never understand this 'dish phobia'.

Dishes are pieces of art and should be admired, whatever the size.
( Especially when its your own)

That is one reason I live in the boonies and can see neighbors only when the leaves fall off the trees in the winter. I moved from a Arizona (USA)mountain community because neighbor across street would not stay out of my business. I had a few parting words.
