Hi,
I’ve bought an Ambit 250 from lincsat and it’s pre-loaded with Infinite firmware. I have used and Ethernet connection with the 250 configurator to apply the settings from my MAC swap and they were applied successfully however when I connect the modem box up the light only appears on power and enet. I have attached the details from the Modem Configuration – Event Log and also attached an image of the 250 configurator. When the subbed box (Ambit 255) is connected the power light and enet appear with the send flashing immediately, then sync and the ready; eventually the ready light appears constantly. I’m from Warrington so its ex C&W therefore the downsteam frequency is set to 586750000 and TFTP IP is set to 80.5.160.23. However the TFTP IP showing on my PC is 81.98.32.31 and I’ve changed this but it still didn’t work. I have read the guides several times and even had advice of lincsat but I still cant manage to figure out the problem. I’d appreciate if anyone can to resolve this issue Thanks in advance Please note that I have removed the MAC address on the event log and image for security reasons Last edited by VJ_UK; 09-02-08 at 08:57 PM. |

I have heard that some area's have changed TFTP addresses and also that forcing a config will blacklist the MAC. The most common cause of the modem not going online is still a bad MAC.
This is why I say it's not a job for a novice anymore. BTW, you should only get the 2 lights on, that is correct.

Thanks for the tips.
Lincsat was right; the TFTP IP addresses had changed. I did a discover on several MAC addresses as slacky mentioned and they had changed from 80.5.160.23 to 80.5.160.22. The discover also showed the valid MAC’s. I also changed the annex mode from 1 to a but every time I plugged it in, it defaulted back to 1. Unfortunately none of the above changes has fixed the issue. I keep noticing in ipconfig that that the IP address always starts with 192 that indicates the modem is either receiving no signal via the cable feed or the Mac address isn't recognized by the cable co I’m a bit lost. Does anyone have any further ideas? Last edited by VJ_UK; 11-02-08 at 11:31 PM. |

Try using TFTP: 80.5.160.51
Also you will probably find your 20 meg config won't work anymore and you can only use the 10 meg config Regards |
