Hi all,
after failing miserably trying to JTAG my first box, I have bought a second (blue 2006) from ebay with the intention of dumping the code across. I haven't got to that part yet but have come across a problem.

I feed the UHF output of the box through my house using an arial amp. Worked fine for the first box. This new one has a problem - the picture tunes in OK but the sound is just static. I have tried tuning it in on 3 different makes of TV - same problem. I have changed the UHF channel in the settings and tried again - same problem.

Any advice? Have I bought a semi-duff box?

you have to set it to (PAL I) for UHF mode then save and exit in the TV settings menu.

Many thanks Gadgetfiend! Now I have my new box up & working I can have a go at doing a code-dump to my faulty one!
