Default satellite newbee needs cam advice

Hello hoping some one can help me out. i am in the process of setting up my first satellite system. Have just managed to find eurobird 1 and i am getting a fairly good signal and quality reading. i can see that there are a load of sky channels listed that are ecrypted. My question is, are there any cams that i can use with my old sky subscription card that will allow me to view sky's fta channels. The other question i have is that sometime soon i would like to add a disecq motor to my system. Is there a good all round cam/card setup for the novice user. Many thanks in advance for your help.

My current set up is a second hand Manhattan starlight 6900, an unknown make 90cm dish and a Metronic universal lnb

You can use a Sky Card in a T-Rex/Dragon and I believe a Diablo, but the card won't get the Monthly updates, you will need a Sky Box for that.

Hi,
I couldn't give you the details, but the Diablo and Trex CAMs will take a Sky card. However they won't keep it alive, so the card would need popping into a Digibox once in a while.

They are CAMs not cards. Mickha is our CAM expert. Have a look in the CAMs section, you should find the informatio you are looking for. I think the Trex/Dragons can be obtained a little bit more cheaply.
