Default 250 modem

Hi all,
i had a 250 done for me from a friend some while back and enjoyed the 20mb for about 5 month then we had the stage where the modems were hit.
I gave it him back to see if qanything could be sorted and nothing since, can this modem be put back on as i miss it, plus i let my kids use my subbed one and now had to take it back, so they have no use of pc now.
Any help is very much appreciated

Hi,

I'm only new to the cable mod myself but as far as i see it, there should be no reason why your 250 cant be reinstated.

You are likely to have be been hit by a firmware upgrade, requiring reflashing of the chip.

Regards, IceUK

The 250's had junk written to the memory requiring the TSOP chip to be removed and re-programmed, this is not a simple job for the average person.

You could always get a router for your internet connection to let the kids share your connection on their PC's.

Also there is a video tut for reprogramming the TSOP in the Online Cable Modem Guide, as Lincsat says it is not a simple job!
