Default please read this if a sky subscriber

according to your sky contract ! (look at page 14 in terms and conditions.)You the subscriber owns the equipment not sky ,this includes the boxes and the dish .but not the software which is owned by sky holding company. the reason for this is that if the equipment is damaged ,stolen ! you are responsible the gear. the normal charge of £120 is not charged to new subscribers. but are charged £30 /£50 depending on the deal . Now the bad news is that they will charge the subscriber £120 for installation if the equipment is either stolen or damaged or yu fail to 12 months contract with them. the good news that if there is already a sky dish/ box from a previous tenant or owner of property ,that is your property and sky has to connect a new sky dish and box according to the contract. But the if installer refuses to connect and instal new equipment , sky has broken there contract with you and will have deemed that they have broken the contract .(now remember you have to be a new subscriber if yu was a subscriber before and have moved into the property that has a dish, they (sky) will have every right in chargeing yu £120/£50/£30 for the priveldge of installing a second hand bit of crap that was connected to the wall from the previous occupant. I would love to see someone take SKY to court on this terms and conditions.. it appears there is a loophole ! But one that SKY can use to try and con people out of there money.. What does the forum think ??

The user has always owned the equip, ment fitted from day one of installation. I buy my own equipment anyway - its cheaper in the long run - Sky never gets involved apart from supplying the subs card. If the box breaks I buy a new one

Sky consider Installation to include setting up the account and supplying a viewing card - not just the hardware installation on-site, or just screwing on an F Plug.
