Default using a 2nd virgin box upstairs

im in scotland and my mum sent over her virgin box from belfast but when i turn it on it just says tune on front of box

If its from belfast jim its a pure ntl box, do you know what area your in ? if your different area it may not work, If it does work you need to set net id, frequency , and symbol rate.
What make and number is box ? what area are you ?.

im in dumbarton just outside glasgow it was telewest now virgin its a pace model no Di4001N

4001 only works in pure ntl area, it wont work in tw area, all are v*rg*n now but its what they used to be.

so its no good then will i need a telewest box and what model no should it be thanks 4 helping me i havent a clue about all this

no its no good but you can try getting a box such as the eurovox max which will allow you to get all the channels available with your cable provider for a once off fee. obviously this is not cosure
