Default Diseqc switch problem

My system has playing up for a while now. I have a 1.5m dish on 1W and a motorised 80cm for the rest of the stuff I want. Separately they are both working fine but when I put my diseqc switch back into the equation it is taking anything from 10 to 30 minutes to switch dishes. I have a technomate 1000D reciever and the switch is a technomate 4 way one all the cabling is fine as it works fine if I take the switch out. Any ideas what the problem could be? I have tried various lnbs and all have the same effect and I have another switch which has the same problem. Could it be the 1000D do you think?

Whereabouts are you putting the switch jonty?

I have a similar setup with a fixed dish on 26E and a motorised one for the rest.

I put the switch after the motor and it works fine.

i.e

Receiver->>Motor->>Switch->>LNBs

I have the switch before the motor but its not a disecq motor its run off a positioner so I didn't think that would make any difference. Have just had an idea though. Will try it connected to my skystar 2 to see if it makes a difference.

I would be interested to know if the switch would work after the positioner, as it looks like a Diseqc motor to the receiver I presume.

Unfortunately the positioner is nothing to do with it as its not involved in anyway other than moving the dish by remote control. The positioner is just connected to the motor. I just have the switch connected to the TM and then my motorised dish on port 1 and the 1.5m dish on port 2. Are there any settings I could alter in the TM options?

Ah I get it, so you manually move the dish with the remote control, rather than let the receiver do it via Diseqc1.2.
I can't see what else you can change, there aren't any other options for Disecq1.0 control, just the positions; 1 to 4. It does sound like there is something wrong with the TM.

Thats what I was thinking. Looks like I am just going to have to put up with it until the TM dies. Will have another play with it connected to the skystar when I get up this afternoon.
