I downloaded the starview 2 software onto starview 1.

I plugged it in and it just had a huge The Box sign on the TV.

When I realised what I did I tried to download the Starview 1 software to but it fails and I believe it is because it wont show a channel or the On sign.

Is there any easy way round this?

Its just a bad flash load the SV1 firmware again using this method:

Connect the box to the pc with your cable but switch it off at the back. Load the correct firmware bin file into GTRom & set it to the correct com port, and select App file only then hit Download.

Only then switch on at the back to power on the box. It may take a few sec. so wait at least 30 sec. (If it doesn't work 1st time try also waiting a couple of sec. to switch on after pressing download in the loader.) It may take more than 1 try to work, but eventually you'll see the loader kick in and the % bar increase. You won't see the % on the Starview though. Only green lines moving left to right. Towards the end of the flash you'll see a message in GTRom saying FLASH BURNING. Then it will reach 100% and wait for the download complete pop up box to appear & the box will reboot back to factory setup. You will have lost any channel data previously on the box & will need to rescan & switch on EMU and set the box up from scratch.

I did the same as the guy above, but cant get it to work following the instructions.

1 put thebox_H20071015_454eE_api onto the system thinking it was an update for starview 1. i did have STARVIEW_H20070607_400eE_api on the system using GTROM 4.00

So when i follow your instructions, i get four green lines individually pop up and it says on very quickly and then the display goes blank, and then i get a message saying download failed "retry"

I think my box is now nuked.... or can i somehow put the starview firmware/factory firmware back on... and reload STARVIEW_H20070607_400eE_api

do you know what the latest firmware is, i have got the old one back, i tried pressing download and then, turning one around 1 second later and thats it.

If you persist with my instructions above it will work. SV1 latest firmware for a genuine box,is as you already had version 4.00.

hi i have the original nt smell area starview (not the box) and it went down this morning,does it need a bin file update or key coded,any advice or help will be much apprecaited.

you should also try pressing download and then turning the box on & off several times it sould kick in thats what i done and it worked a treat.
