Hi there all i am fairly new to all this but looking to get a digital setup, setup at my house. My father used to have a pretty good setup back in the analogue days and has his equipment still. Now i know that i can not use the old analogue reciever (chapperel Monteray), or the old LNB. But i was hoping i could still use his old motorised dish setup. Now i have no idea what make or model any of it is the only name i can get off of it is off of the Motor casing which is "FIBO" here are some pictures : -

Hi James,
You have a very sought after dish there, a Fibo gregorian, they don't make them anymore, but you shouldn't have too much of a problem getting parts for it. I would imagine than the LNB needs replacing but the rest should be fine if the motor works ok. One of the Fibo owners will no doubt be along a bit later and give you some advice. Robbo

You can certainly use the analogue receiver in the interim whilst you ponder which digital receiver to go for. Theres still a few analogue services around

the dish is a fibostop gregorian antenna.
the motor will be 36volt so you will need to buy a vbox which will control the motor with any digital receiver and replace the lnb with a c120 inverto or invacom lnb then your ready to roll |

Yes very nice dish! I highly recommend the inverto white tech .3 C120 lnb, and its cheap at around £15
![]() I have moded mine to take a diseqc motor. Here`s a pic to give you an idea. Or you could still use the positioner in the chapperel Monteray to drive the motor on the dish, and use our new receiver to watch the channels. Your father had a great set up back in the day, bet that set him back a few grand! But the dish is still very usable, it has the gain of a 1.1m dish. ![]() Take a look here. index.html

Cheers For the Responses guys. Didn't realise a had such a gem just sitting around, how comes the fibo gregorian is so sought after ??
Couple of Questions to get me going on bringing it back to life :- 1. Where would i get hold of the Lnb you suggested - inverto white tech .3 C120 lnb ?? 2. Which would be the easier/cheaper option on getting it motorised ?? Thanks again, James |

cheaper option would be to just buy some new 4 core cable and use the 36volt motor with a vbox
once the vbox is connected to your receiver you can move to and store satellites using the receivers diseqc 1.2 commands and the vbox converts them for use with the 36volt motor. on the lnb try southern satellite one of the site sponsors they will be able to get the lnb. |
