Got an official source for that claim? Doesn't say so in the article.

Sol

EDIT: There's a longish thread about this on A l s a t. Someone found another article that says:

After the entering of the media mogul Rupert Murdoch nothing shall change for the estimated 4 million customers of the pay-TV channel Premiere. A spokesperson declared last Sunday that the media reports about an impending recall action concerning the digital receivers were a wild guess. The magazine "Focus" had reported that the digital encryption system of Premiere, Nagravision, should be replaced by the N*S system of Murdoch. The spokesperson pointed out that Premiere had an agreement with the provider of its current encryption system.
Last week it became known that Murdoch is the new major shareholder of the pay-TV channel. A company affiliated with the News Corp. of Murdoch had bought 14.58% of the Premiere shares from the cable-network operator Unitymedia for 287 million Euros in cash or 17.50 EUR per share.

That would be about right, that basket, Rupert, will not rest till he controls the entire world. He is one very greedy fecker and his tribe are just about as bad as he is. I will never understand how he gets away with it, I reckon he has deep pockets when it comes to filling the brown envelopes that he no doubt gives to the overseers of TV in various countries.

I got a letter from Sly today, i recently got S;y sports for €14 per month, in the letter it said that I was getting a free digibox, grade a, but when I called to ask about it I was told that it was a mistake and I was not getting one. I tried my best to reason, with a person whom I could hardly understand, he was not British, but the ignorant git hung up on me. If I made a mistake they would not let me off with it like they expect to be let off with not doing what they said they were going to in their letter. I am going to call them up tomorrow and tell them I am going to cancel my sub and see what they have to say then.

Very best regards Wez

Well then you would see who was in his pocket and I feel that the whole weight of the British Government would be brought down on us all and in every country where his influence reached, and let's face it, there are not many where he has not reached. I fully agree with you Southern, but will it ever happen, the basket has too much influence in every country, there would be a very big out pouring of bringing back the death sentance from the Sun and The News of the World, not to mention Sly news.

We can always dream Southern.

Very best regards Wez

@Kerrywez

Regarding the promised free digibox, you might still be able to get it from them if you can go through the trouble of writing to them claiming it and enclosing a photocopy of their letter in which they promised it. Things put down in writing tend to get their attention more than phone conversations.
