Default Surfboard prob after power cut..

We had a power cut this morning and when the elec came back on, my Surfboard 5100 wouldnt power up (no lights or anything..)
I unplugged it and left it for about 30mins..
Powered it up, the top green light came on then all went dead again..
Unplugged it again and left it for a couple of hours, just tried it again and it seems to be working fine...???
Did leaving it off for 2 hours cause it to reset?
Is there another way to reset the modem ith out leaving it turned off??

Anyway, ots working now so dont wanna jinx it anymore..

Modem turned itself off again today..
Unplugged it, then plugged it back in and the top light and two others stayed on for about 3 secs then all went off again..??
Unplugged it and left it for a bit, tried it a couple more times (tried holding down the standby button as I plugged it in; dunno if this does anything but seemed to work)
Modem finally powered up OK...

Have I got a faulty modem or is something else happening?

Any ideas??
