Predator 3.32 and original subscription card

Hi Everyone,
I have dragon cam 4.1 with predator 3.32 loaded and a legal irdeto v5 subscription card.

When I go to the menu and check SmartCard, the cam recognizes my smartcard and and says Decoding OK.

My problem though is I have no picture even when I keep the decoder on for 30 to 1 hour no joy; it keeps on telling me decoding ok but still no image.

Recently, our Irdeto Satellite provider introduced smartcard & decoder marriage (pairing). I wonder whether that is why I'm having trouble getting picture even tough when I use my Irdeto Cam in my Technisat decoder (with the latest firmware from the manufacturer) I have picture, which goes off from time to time forcing me to reset the cam or restart the decoder.

My question: is it possible to rectify the behavior of the predator so that I can get picture or is there a way to input the decoder serial number for Irdeto in Predator? In the debug menu there are only N*gra and ND* box key.

PS: I should mention that only Predator 3.32 is decoding all other versions up to 3.65 do not decode with the provider's smart card.

Which Irdeto encrypted provider is it?
It might be as simple as adding the correct CAID to the later Predator files.
This can be done very easily using Prededit 1.4, which you can find in the satellite downloads.
Go to the UK Cable section, Private FTA, and click on the first Sticky thread, Some Download Links.
If you then go to the site listed for Satellite TV, enter the Dragon/T-Rex folder you will finds prededit 1.4.
If you download and run this you can add the required CAID to the later Predator 365 file.
Click on the folder icon at the end of the Open File address bar.
Navigate to predator 365, I usually save the file on my desktop to make it easier to find.
Once Opened click on the CAID tab.
You can now see the CAID's loaded and those you can add.
Take out some of the CAID's you don't use and add the Irdeto ones you require, by highlighting them and using the arrow symbols.
Once complete click Save CAID's in Dra and load your newly modified file onto your cam.
You can also copy the CAID's from your old Predator 332 file using this utility.
Open Predator 365, click on the tools tab, and Copy all data from another DRA.
Click on the folder icon at the end of the Source DRA file address bar and load predator 332.
Untick Provider and DCW/BISS but leave CAIDS ticked.
Click copy and save data and load your newly amended predator 365.
Please post back if you have any problems.

Just tried as per your advice, managed to get PredEdit v1.4 and updated my predator 3.65. Now when I insert my original Mult*choice Afric* smart card it says Decoding OK but still no picture. I wonder what is wrong now?

Can you provide further assistance, pls? As I said earlier they have recently introduced smart card and decoder pairing. I did activate my smart card using the provider's original decoder after which I now use my technisat decoder.

Was wondering whether there is a way to add the original STB serial number into predator as it is done for ND* and nagr*vision boxes.

I have just checked lyngsat and there are 2 satellites listed as carrying Multichoice Africa, 36E and 68.5E.
Unfortunately I can't receive either satellite, and I can't find which CAID is required for these channels.
Have you tried deleting the channels and re-scanning them in, just in case the VPID has changed?
If you go here and click on the correct link, 36E or 68.5E, you will find full channel information.

After re-scanning the channels try using the predator 332 file you had working.
If this fails try a few different predator files and just use 1 CAID until it opens.

Ok, I am going to try as per suggestion. Actually I am receiving signal from Intelsat 10 68.5 East. The CAID is currently showing as 0606 when I use

I am going to rescan and see what happens.

Am I the first one who encounters this kind of problem or there have been some other people facing the same problem in the past? I can't seem to find any thread related to the issue.

I don't think many members have access to that satellite or package. I have seen mention of it elsewhere but not in connection with the Dragon Cam and no mention of the CAID required.

try a pred with the ird*to B caid in it,works for a few providers afaik.

Hi lennono, Have been trying a few predator files namely 3.32, 3.64 and 3.65 all containing the ird*to B CAID (0604) and still the same result. I am suspecting that the decoder and smart card pairing is causing the problem. I am just wondering if someone could help in including Ird*to Box serial in the file as it is for ND* and N*gravision or at least show me how to. I have tried all other suggestions made earlier but still the same message Decoding OK, no picture. Thanks

There isn't that option for your card, and I can't see it being added to a new file as only the file writer, kinkdink, could add this.
I would first chack that your card is still working, if possible, do you have an original receiver to try it in?
Also can you try the card in a friends, or relatives box, to see if the card pairing is essential?
It begins to sound like the providers have introduced a system to stop the cards being used with receivers. other than the subscribers receiver, but this seems like a lot of trouble to go to for a relatively small provider.
Also, if possible, try the card in a dedicated Irdeto cam.
