Can someone please tell me how to set up my Eurovox.I want to keep my Vilgin box and I also have a HD DVD recorder.I know I have to use a splitter and a F type adapter but can't get my head around the complete setup including the scart leads.I think I could work out the order of the scart leads but the running of the tv cable confuses me.Many thanks in anticipation

Is all the equipment in the same room ? its pretty straightforward really as all the connections are labelled on the back of the Virgin box and the Eurovox ...the scarts carry all the signals ....the TV cable from the roof only carries the signals from the 5 land based channels and that goes into the back of the set top box and out from there to the TV .....how many scart connectors does your tv have ? if its got two, great, one from the Virgin box and one from the Eurovox ...one of these will be accessed from your telly remote AV .....if you have the Eurovox manual it does show the connections in there ....

Is the RF output on the back of the Eurovox just a pass-through connector for the roof-top aeriel or does it output whatever channel your watching?
I had planned on getting another box to use on an occassional basis with a small portable TV which only has an RF input (no composite or SCART) but if all I'll get is the terrestrial channels then I'll have to think about getting another TV. |

Right the cable feed that comes into the house goes into the input side of the splitter ...then you will need two short patch leads (either made by you or bought ready made from Maplins or ebay) and from the output side of the splitter one goes into the Eurovox and the other goes to the Virgin set top box they are all screw in connectors so you need the F type adapter to fit on the end of the lead that goes into the Eurovox as its a co-ax socket it fits into ....as stated these patch leads you can make yourself using screw on F connectors and some co-ax cable but the better option would be to buy some already made up ones from Maplin or E bay .....this site shows what the screw on connectors look like Maplin > Twist-On F Plugs the E bay site is down at the moment or I would give you a link to the ready made up ones,Im pretty sure that Maplins or similar shops sell them any way ....
Update have now got a link for you regarding F connector leads F-Connector Satellite/NTL Coaxial Cable RG59 Gold - 5m on eBay, also, Other Satellite Cable, Satellite Cable Freeview, Consumer Electronics (end time 19-Mar-08 09:52:47 GMT) Last edited by telecom69; 26-02-08 at 04:18 AM.
