Is there an easy way to tell if 250/255 are bricked?

the easy way of telling if your modem has taken the V-Day hit is to ask the seller the last time it was connected to a feed. if was before sept 07, but it. the only prob is that when your at a car boot and ask this, they seem to tell you it was working last week and you get it home and can smell the dust smolerding when you connect the psu. heh.
if its dusty, give it a go, also, if on fleabay, if the modem does'nt come with a cable cable its prob not been connected to a feed for a while.
eventually, were all going to be bidding against each other on fleabay for old modems.
people with willems and solder skills will be searching on fleabay for bricked ones and getting for practically nothing. or, going into peoples feedback and figuring out that the person selling this modem has only just bought it hence, bricked.
