Is there an easy way to tell if 250/255 are bricked?

Is there an easy way to tell if 250/255 are bricked? Just been really naive, and bought 7 ambit 250/255 modems off ebay. DOH!

how easy can it be , two screws open, whack on your max2**/2** and connect to pc - open software[modify settings correctly], if u get console disabled its bricked[minutes],
u could build a max interface from scratch,download the progs an hour !![after youve gathered parts]

sorry for above if/or are you saying that you need an easier way to tell from face value for say purchasing at car boots?? would be very usefull if some1 does-if this is the case!
[other than taking a lat top loaded with right software a screwdriver and max interface im not sure there is m8, luv to here from some1 that does though!!

plug in power if snd light is the first to flash rapidly they are bricked.

shoulda remembered that, but i suppose even with lapttop u need power for mod3m so either option no good at carboot or auction etc till u bought it..
has any1 got a link or that can point me in right direction for removal and programming of tsop, plz--i see jabs is doing willems for 50quid or was

there is guy who sells them already programmed and with vid to help also gives good support. just tried to do a link but my post count is to low. if you google "foxdeltaone tsops" his site comes up.

yeah just checked it out[jt4gs 4all], good site, i used this a while back when i built my max inerface as in schematics it didnt say how to connect [which wire to what pin] to ambit lookily in this site the 4 wire lead forsale for max interface says the wiring order, then got it sorted!!LOL

unfortunately to get back on topic - i coudlnt link to the tutorials from there
but i think they have some chipz left [come with vids as u say], handy also if already programeed , do u know of anywhere or someplace u could point me slyly in the direction of a tutrial for removing the T50P5, so i can read up b4 purchasing some mayb [if there is 1]
sorry for double posting or what specific tools i need apart from the obvious, ie what size solderinh head etc,
