Yes - A sky digibox

He wont get the BBC / ITV or any of the other stuff transmitted on Astra 2D without a silly sized dish but he should get a reasonable selection of channels with a hobby sized dish.

or any receiver that would take a cam like diablo to get channels like premiere that show movies with english audio and most sports with english audio as well.

with a diablo cam in a receiver and a movable dish he could get

tps, ( multivision movie channels with eng audio on some films)
premiere, ( english audio films and sports)
srg swiss (these channels have shown films with mutiple audio tracks)
polsat (english audio eurosport and hbo channels)
digitv ( quite a few channels with english audio option)

theres also subcription cards like digitalb which are good value for football and films around 250 for 12mth full card will be cheaper in poland i guess

or sky on astra 2, 28east with a large dish 2.5metre, could be more needed for full channels

The real problem might be the satellite at which the dish is pointing --- maybe need to check if OP's dad can receive Astra 2 at all?

Hi could always get films and sports from Pr*m 19.2E as most have English audio and there is BBC World and Prime. It would be way cheaper for him to get the likes of Astra 1 or Hotbird in Poland and there are films and sport on these birds in English.

Very best regards Wez

The 7025 is the best at the moment, but the new 8000HD will be out soon, if you can believe all you hear. The price of the new box will be €800, it is reported, and for that money it seems to be a bit steep, it is for me anyway.

You should know that the dreambox is a bit of handfull for someone who has not got a good handle on using a computer, as it need to be connected to a LAN and is best connected to the net via the LAN. If your dad is not fairly good with a computer then he might well run into difficulties with a dreambox. I am only telling you this to let you understand what is involved, to some degree, and not to put you off the idea of a dreambox. I have nothing but respect for the dreambox and what it can do, but it is a bit daunting for the novice, though once you have a grasp of the way it works then it is the best receiver you can have.

Good luck with your quest.

Very best regards Wez
