Default V+ - Box goes straight to updating as soon as i turn it on

After i put a dump on the 512 chip, The box goes straight into updating and stays there with numbers changing on the front lcd. I left it on all night last night and after arount 8 hours it was still updating! so obviously it was not really updating, It was just messing around or something.
Now even if i press "reset" the box still goes direct into updating. And if i unplug it from the mains and reconnect, The box again goes direct into updating. The only way i can get the lcd to say boot again and get to the virgin poweing up screen is by holding the standby button were it then says "boot" on the lcd and goes to the virgin powering up screen.
Please can someone give me any advice?
Thankyou

I have no means of checking as i cant get to the eng menu. The reason for this is that the box boots right into updating and so if i hold up and down, Nothing will happen, I have pressed standby to go to were it would say boot on the lcd and have pressed up and down but then it still does not go into eng men.

No mate i have not tried a new chip. I think i will buy one tomorrow. I have reprogrammed it with 2 different netid bin files.
Now a mate is going to get hold for me a original net id file from my area and i will put that on the chip, Then we will see what happens.
Thankyou

all you need to do is hold the stby button when booting up. takes about a min or so, then it will let you in to eng menu. then change the net id with an atmal card!!!

matthew4321 i have tried this but after holding the standby btton for upto 2min my box did not gointo the eng menu.
All i want to know is whether i press the button as soon as i plug the power in or once it says boot?
And also note that as soon as i ploug power in the box does not say boot, insted it goes to updating. Unless if i press standby right after it goes to updating, then it takes around 5sec and it gets out of updating and shows boot on lcd

WOW!!
IT IS NOW WORKING!!!!
I got a dump for my area(a correct one, not generated from an app.)
I dumped it onto the chip,
Plugged the box in, Was able to go into eng menu Now it was showing my correct net id, Then automatically it rebooted and started updating.
2 min. later it was updated and went to channel 999.
My mosc card was in so i flicked through a few pay channels and all are working!
BUT!!! for some reason i cant get to the tv guide, Nor to the settings pay, nor to anywere else like that. If i press guide, it does not come up. When i press the green button to get the tv guide that does not come up eaither. If i press V+ that give a message saying please try later.
Please can some one tell me why?. I am now using a fun4 with C3 on it.
THANKYOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE
