Thumbs down S-Y ITALIA receiver

Hi everyone,
I have acquired above dish from my brother who can no longer afford subscription.
Any suggestions what I can do with it, or is subject taboo!
Apologies if I am breaking any rules.

As long as the topic doesnt degrade into h&cking/cr&cking Sky Italia the subject is perfectly ok for discussion. Is it just the dish or a receiver too?

Hi Analoguesat,
It's just the receiver. I currently have a 90cms Gibertini motorized system with a Technomate 1500.

Sky Italia is on Hotbird.

So what you could do is motorise you dish to Hotbird, connect up the Sky Italia box to the feed (or replace th LNB with a Twin) and tell us what it you can do with it.

I suspect that it will give you any FTA channels that are part of the Sky Italia package (if any). Let us know.

I've fitted a few of those, they work with even a Zone 1 Minidish here, although I always supply a Zone 2 if they haven't already got the dish. They look identical to a UK Digibox & Remote

Or you could connect it to the IF Loopthrough on the TM, if the TM is put into standby, the Sly Italia box should have full access to the LNB. ( motorise the dish to 13E first obviously)

If its the same as the receiver i had it should have some basic DISEqC functions. From what i could make out (My Italian isn't that hot) it will switch between 13e and 19.2e, it might even use a motor, i don't know as i never got that far with it
