Talking Monoblock installation

Howdy,

I got gifted a monoblock and after reading on here that I should just replace the existing lnb with it and tilt the 13e side up a little I tried and tried and tried and tried.

19.2 e is fine. but I can't get nowt outta 13e.

I might be being a prize plum.

I have 65cm lidl dish, it's a 0.2db lemon monoblock and I have an sl65. I have set 13e to be disceq 2/2.

Any pointers would be great.

Could it be that I am on 13e without knowing it? If this is the case how would I tell?

tia for any pointers

Please post a photo of the setup.

I take it your dish is aligned to Astra (19.2E)?

Have you put the 19E LNB at the focus?

If 19E is at the focus, the monoblock will need to be tilted down, and it should be to the right ( when looking at the dish face)

Hi

I did this just yesterday, with exactly the same monoblock and receiver!

I think your dish was pointing at 19.2E before you fitted the monoblock. In that case, you need to fit the left hand LNB (looking at the front of the dish) in the clamp so that the 'free' LNB is on the right (remember, the dish acts like a mirror for the incoming signal; 13E is to the west of 19.2E so the Hotbird LNB has to be east of the Astra LNB). Astra is Diseqc 2/2, Hotbird is 1/2. The skew/tilt of the block doesn't seem to make much of a difference to the signal strength, but theoretically the right hand LNB should be angled down a tad.

EDIT: Robbo just beat me to it

Question Re: Monoblock installation

Ok - sorry guys this is confusing me. I'll show you a pictorial representation and perhaps then we can clear it up!

Please view the attached image.

This is a view in front of the dish. Black circle is in clamp and is I asume astra @ 19.2 e, the pink b*gger is angled up a little and is13e. That is what I thought was right.

:S

I am being a tard aren't I?

It can be confusing

What you originally had would have been correct had you had your dish focussed on Hotbird (13E).

Hi
I have a Strong 4620X free to air receiver and I just bought a Universal Monoblock LNB. My dish is fixed towards 13 degree and I wanna install the new LNB so that I could receive Astra as well but I am not sure how to change the Diseqc setting of my receiver in order to get signal. There are 3 options for the Diseqc setting on my receiver but I don't know how to change'em around so I was wondering if anyone could help me on this plz?

Set Hotbird to Port A,or it may be listed as Diseqc 1 or Diseqc A or Mini 1.
Set Astra1 to Port B,or it will be listed as Diseqc 2 or Diseqc B or Mini 2.
Check your manual.
