Howdy.

I think the forum's have sprouted up over the years so that choice is available for everyone.

Value for money (or none) is the key.
I've had sly from time to time(and now), but mostly for her indoors.
Sports I can get free or from a cheap card so don't subscribe.

Each to their own I think.

I like PRemiere sports, and art show lots of Scottish games.

The only thing I don't like about sly is the fact they try to monopolise.

Regards.

The FA cup been very interesting this year as there is only one premiership team in the semi s and three cocoa cola teams. Offcourse sky and BBc would have preferred 4 premiership teams . with Chelski man utd and liverpool and middleborough all out. so we will have a surprise this year. With ITV and setanta sports with the FA cup for the next two years they will both have to offer HD for all the matches. Its still the premiership where the real monopoly is. ok someone else has the league cup and there is also the champions league and Uefa cup. I would like to see a complete split of all matches of footie so that no one gets an monopoly.

The trouble is Sky had the 'monopoly', the EC break it up and Setanta come in.

I don't watch footie, but watched the PGA on Sky. I now need to pay £120 per year more to see the same as before.

And competition is good?

would remlap like a holiday in the seychelles i know i would. Perhaps he is a Sky spy ?? There is no doubt sky have made a great difference to the world of TV the problem is lot of it is very negative. They own Fox in america. One thing that gets up my wick is the fact (and they are not the only ones that do this) the adverts become louder. Now did i not read that sky didnot do this and it was peoples imagination . Now everyone does this ! Haveing almost total control on certain sports is bad news. Again the govt pounced on it (too late in my view) Films again sky shows them before anyone else does. This is not fair competition its an monolopy. 3 more HD channels on sky does not represent true value for money. There is a more worrying thing is that advertiseing revenues are down world wide especially here and in the US. Something about a world recession.. without the advertiseing revenues many TV stations will either go into meltdown or be taken over.

What I don't understand is why people feel they need to bitch on a little forum, as if BSKYB care.

does sky care ? yes when there profits go into freesat sorry that was a joke. Sky like any business is only interested in there share holders. more profits mean happy investors. Sky is there to be hit at. No tv company can survive in this world without advertiseing and subscriptions. (except the BBC then they get the money from everyone). Virgin is not really a viable alternative because they cannot cover 100 % of the uk. they can only complete on level terms where they are allowed too. (by local councils) NTL made a complete mess of things. going into a huge dept.infact they made the biggest ever loss of any uk company trying to compete with sky and telewest. I believe they loss 4 bn £ s . cable has the greater future strangely. in perhaps 30years time the whole country will be connected by cable and we will not want the dish. the only other long term competition will be wireless (no cables)tv but i think thats a long way off. the dish has several things against it. 1 its ugly (eventhough there are invisable ones availabel)2. bad weather can affect it 3. relies on large satellites many miles up that are proned to failure, these satellites or i should say the old ones are becomeing junk in space and a danger to traffic.

OK that enough folks. This thread is supposed to be for discussion of the three new Sky HD tv services not a free for all where everyone can have a pop at Sky's business policies.. Please try to stay more or less on topic.

FG you obviously dont like sky but please dont try to turn threads into off topic rants about sky - theres a time & place for that - and its not on an off topic tangent.
