Default Dvb-c

Hi - first-timer,

I have a mate who uses a set-top box through a cable connection and gets alot of channels. I automatically thought if theres something like that for a P.C. and low and behold there seems to be. My question is wether that the cards Ive seen pic up as much channels or they're just 'free to air' selection of some sort?

Thanks.
