If it is actually a satellite receiver, you would be able to get the FTA channels that are on the 'Sky' satellite.
For subscription channels you would need to buy a subscription, not sure if the box can read the card though, its possible. Can you post a link to the listing? I suspect that this is actually a cable box. For some unknown reason some of the cable receiver selling thickies don't seem to know the difference between a cable box and a satellite box. ![]() DVB-C = cable. DVB-S = satellite. They are not interchangable.

Yes, I know what you mean, but there is NO hacking SKY.
![]() If you you want Sky from satellite, you have to pay, it is as simple as that. If you want to save money, cancel your sky subscription, and just watch the free to air channels. If you get a motorised dish, there are plenty available. ![]() I cancelled mine long ago, and don't regret it. Robbo ![]() |

The ones I saw on ebay were confusing, it said satellite or sat in the title, then in the listing it said cable and DVB-C, but one from Germany was also mentioning satellite names, but still DVB-C and cable.
Can these receivers do both? without changing the tuner perhaps? |

The best package for football is DigitAlb on 16E, I think it costs about £150 per year, which sounds like good value to me, considering that it shows 3pm kickoff games. Some games can be picked up from other satellites, like 19.2E for example, with appropriate software. I don't watch football myself so I couldn't tell you any more. This site lists a lot of the games, mostly encrypted I believe. Some might be available with appropriate software, I don't know. htp://www.liveonsat.com |

the dvb2000 box is basically a dbox1, they can be programmed to work on the cable networks but you need a card (funcard) and some special files and i dont think the keys autoupdate
to anyone not familiar with card programming or doesnt wnt the hassle, i suggest you stay away, stick withthe Dbox 2 |
