Hi wazza, You have to understand that it does not matter where the dish is, it does not need to be "tilted" up and more or less.

We are fairly far from the equator here, in the British Isles, and the dish does not need to be "tilted" that much. Your dish is looking at satellites which are 22,500 miles out in space and in geostationary orbit, over the equator so the line of sight to the satellites is not that large an angle. If you were very close to the equator your dish would need to be virtually lying on it's back. Hope this will allow you to have a little understanding of what is involved in finding satellites and what the dish "tilt" would be.

Have a look here and it will give you an indication of where the satellites are. >>>>>>>>
The satellite arc

Good luck and have fun.

Very best regards Wez

Hey wazza, ive just put an 80cm up mounted on a motor at the front of the house and i'm worried that someone wil knock on my door and tell me that the bugger has blown away and landed in their garden!
