The Ambit 250 is capable of 20meg. If you cancel your subscription, they may want it back and may cut your feed.

thanks lincsat, i was thinking of canceling my subscription then if they do not pick it up within a few weeks i would mod it, when you say cut your feed do you mean they will deactivate the feed to my house from the green box, if so cant i just activate it again from the green box with a tool. cheerz

I am sure the 250/255 can handle up to 40mb but i might me wrong, I have also been told they now issue a 256 ambit which they give to new customers and it will also handle docsis 3 for their new up coming 50mb service,
But I'm sure you will not be able to clone a 256 or the 50mb as they have fixed all the loop holes

I've got a friend that worked for N*l but I have been uable to contact him for awile,so i'm not suren if he still works for virgin now they've took over so i might not be able to confirm this?!!!! but his job was to collect cable boxes & modems from customers that had canceld their subscription, which he was payed £10 per unit he recovered as an insentive so they will come looking to collect thier equiptment until you return it ! so if you dont answer the door to them you'll be OK but if you do then you got 2 opions #1 return whats theirs #2 or inform them you dont have it "to which they walk away" but then you recieve a bill for the FULL cost of the equiptment!!
My friend told me the only chance to get away with keeping the equiptment is if you can get them 2 belive an Enginier had already collected it (this used to work as employes were steeling boxes to chip then sell while auditing unable to collect on returns paperwork) be carefull |
