Yes, that is correct Robbo; I think the North Americans make the distinction more clearly that way --- the 'regular' LNBs that we use which have in-built feed horn, they call LNBF; the one for which you need a separate feed horn they call LNB.

just a thought on this one as wez said it would be a waste of a dish couldnt you use two lnbs one for c band and one for ours or am i just daft lol

iv used someones C Band set up in America, if i remember correctly the dish was about 4-5 meters. the picture quality was poor IMO but then it was years ago.

The US picture quality you refer to was no doubt analogue, with loads of sparklies. These days, most (if not all) channels will be digital, so they either work or don't just like Ku band.

I've not used C Band for years, but had hours of fun, still have a 3.7m Paraclipse dish, could get a watchable picture on the Global beam half transponder feeds on AOR & IOR Intelsats using threshold extension.

yes it was analogue. i had alot of fun with it tho there was alot of feeds & the like ;o)
