55west yes if you have a very large cband dish as the satellite transmits cband signals which are different to the ku band signals used in europe.

7west there isn't any free football shown, this is encrypted in a subscription package called Showtime.

this satellite is very hard to receive due to its footprint (the area which the satellite broadcasts to), it is possible but only on large dishes dependant on where abouts in the uk you are located.

Hi thered,
I am at almost 10 degrees west and have no chance of getting as far as 55.5. I can get as far as 45W no problem, but 55.5 jusr seems to be a step too far. I might be wrong, but in my experience it is not possible to get that far west.

As for 9W I can't get it, not even on the 1.2 Channel Master.I think thta robbo said on time that he could only get the vertical polarized transponders. I am not aware which transponders the footy is on, but I am sure that robbo will have some idea. I have just had very quick look at the European Cup games which are on and there are none of them free on 7W, so I am not that sure if there are any free game on 7W. I do stand to be corrected on the free games on 7W, but there seems to not be any free European Cup games on that bird.

Very best regards Wez

Looks like the football would be on the Showsports Channels on 7W, which are on a horizontal transponder, so you are talking about a biggish dish, probably 2-3m or similar. Even the verticals are more difficult the further north and west you are located. I can only get the verticals reasonably well with a normal sized dish as I'm down south.

You are looking at a dish well over 2m for 7W horizontals up in the north east

mini of 2.4m but best to get a 3 or 3.7m to allow for rain fade

There appears to be two beams, one of which does cover Europe:-
