Default starview newbie

hi there, i am thinking of buying a starview box, but have a couple of basic questions, very basic to be honest

house i have there is a cable connection , but am not subscribing (supplier is smallworld) , so if I purchase a starview box is it a case of plug and play?

Smallworld/Omne is different to VM areas and you will not get as many channels the box will work there on a live connection although you may need to manually input frequencies and symbol rate. I can give you those but there is a rumour that they may be changing encryption method soon in Smallworld/Omne.
