Talking Settings Doing My Head in

Ok i'm and old guy that needs some help had no problems with the fixed dish but i decided to fit a motorised unit and a double lnb.

Motor unit is Rotor sat HH90
Box is Fortec Star Sigma Omega 2 from Maplins

Problem is where I live we ain't even on the map, I live on the west coast of Scotland in Irvine,Bourtreehill, my home is not on the map so using most setting tools on the net give me a problem.

I have managed to get the unit set to astra at 28.2 I can also get astra 19 and hotbird but i have the feeling that the settings are out i could do with some help on this or if anybody lives in this area all help and advice would be much appreciated.

Hi popsad,
You could try this link and see what it can do for you, I found it very good. Here is the link>>>>>>>>>>>>> _http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm

The link is not live because we don't allow them on here, but you can figure what to do to get it to work, I am sure.

You just need to click on the map and keep doing it till you are down to your exact location then enter the coordinates into your box.

Sorry for taking a it of time, but I only have a very slow dial up and it took me some time to get to your location. Anyway, after a long voyage, I have found you, there are two Bourtreehills on the map, so I have the cordinates for the middle of the two, it will do you for all the difference there would be. I would encourage you to look at the site yourself anyway, as you can find your exact house, but the following is the data for the present.

Latitude = 55.6209, Longitude = -4.6383
Lat = 55 degrees, 37.3 minutes North
Long = 4 degrees, 38.3 minutes West

If you want to point a satellite TV dish at Satellite= 5 West orbit longitude
Dish elevation= 26.6, Azimuth= 185.8 (magnetic compass), Polarisation= 0.2

(Optional) Pointing angles to satellite orbit longitude 5W

I have the data for 5 degrees west as that will be the best sat for you to set your dish up on.

Very best regards Wez

All you need to find out is your latitude and longitude.

Then follow this guide:-

How to install a DiSEqC motor the right way

and this one, it has pictures:-

Installing A Motor With Photos

Golden rule- Get the pole 100% vertical.

If you need clarification or get stuck, give us a shout.
