Default Re: Badr MBC

i have used the 26e for a couple of years with a 88cm triax, tec box and titanium, majority of the time i see the mbc no problem, only when it rains with any degree would i lose the picture, but the only way i could get the picture is when i take a monitor into the back garden and on a clear night i can get up to 60% and every 3 months or so i go back out into the garden and realign the dish, through winds etc, i could not do it with the size of the dish otherwise, town hartlepool north east

Default Re: Badr MBC

Thanks to everyone for their advice and to those who provided me with mini reports on their badr reception. Today I finally nailed it and can now pick up the MBC channels using my 85cm dish. As others have mentioned, I doubt it will survive the rain, but all working so far.

I tried the Inverto SilverTech and the Faval LNB, unsurprising perhaps given the manufacturer of the dish is Faval, the latter LNB worked better. The Inverto gave me nothing with MBC, so I think the dish is an important factor. LNB positioning is critical, placing it as far forward in the holder (towards the dish) improved signal and the skew had to be spot on. Flexing the dish by a very small amount at the bottom, close to the arm improves signal greatly, so this is something I will work on soon. I also spent a good hour getting the motor and the dish positioned correctly, but at last it works.... until it rains or gets really windy!

Thanks again,

Stephen
