Ground mounted 'temporary' motorised set up for Western satellite.
Set up with USALS and has accurately tracked every sat I've tried so far: 1, 5, 12.5, 15, 22, 24.5, 27.5 and 30W. Quite pleased with this one :d

What did you do, just bang the pole in the ground a bit bigtee?
I like the stabilizer at the bottom , it is funny that people are strangely drawn to using vehicle components for their setups. I blame AS.![]() Great that it's working as well as it is. ![]() Robbo ![]() |

Robbo, funny enough the pole is not even banged or stuck to the ground at all; just standing there and held down by that which you have aptly named "the stabilizer";
![]() In fact I can now add 8w (wishful thinking for 7w obviously) to the list. @wod yeah, I did hear about the gales; the set-up is for 'as and when required' so I can easily just unplug the cable going to the receiver and pack away the mount ready for next time; setting it up again should only be about 10 minutes --- I actually experimented this morning. ![]() Off-topic; what is the easiest way to use smilies when posting here at techwatch; I can't seem to find them readily - even with 'Go Advanced'!

Ah just thought I might mention the following:
Dish is Lidl dish at £14.99 (performs very well) Ground mount = £3 (discarded scaffold pole picked up free at scaffolders; bottom piece to turn the pole into a stand and welding the two together) ![]()

I have an engine block from a MK1 panda. I am tempted to make a dish mount out of it now instead of a funky flower pot.
