Default Art agent in court for card dealing.

In the local rag yesterday(Daily Post Welsh Edn) it reported a local man
appeared in court accused of selling Art cards to local pubs,it is alledged he made £5K from the deals, however the authorities were unable to trace the "Mr Big".

The case is brought by BSB and others. The raids were all in one County
Borough in North Wales, the county was not named in the report.

The gear installed in the pubs was confiscated, however the Barister
for the defence said No European Regs had been breached, the case
continues, it is unclear from the newspaper who raided the pubs,it was
not the Police. No mention of the pubs being prosecuted.

More later

Bob

Ok, it is dodgy, but perhaps better than a Roopers Dodgibox.

No offence taken North Star.

1.From what I understand & the article was a bit hit & miss,it was not North Wales Police who did the raid,no doubt they may have been present
to keep the peace.

2.It appears it was the dealer of cards & equipment he sold that they w ere after, I know one club in Wrexham, about three miles away, paid for the Technomate and give away meter dish,In January I was in for a seasonal
meal with ten others, when I started to look at the technomate the club
owner started to panic, an art card was inserted in its mouth, when he realised I was just a sat hobby person, he told me the 42 inch samsung plasma, technomate, dish were erected from the back of a van with ladders. No idea what he paid,or wether the gear was rented.

The big give away is the meter dish ,unmarked but im sure its a traix,
aimed at whatever.non motorised.Colour of dishes all greyish. This was the first thing I spotted, would you believe erected over the front door.

I have not heard of any pub raided being up in court, but with them all having the same dish, its easy for the enforcing authority to pick them off.
Not sure if they take the dish down as well as siezing the electrics.

Noticed another dish this afternoon on a pub near Mold when returning from Chester. Same size and colour. Wife thinks Im a saddo when I mention dishes, size and where pointed, perhaps shes right.

Difficult one, I agree, but I know a lot of pubs are desperate and not afford £Ks for Sky, also the new hike on booze and the brewery hike next month will kill a lot of pubs. And the pubs do (not clubs) curtail the bingers.

But the dam offs and supers will carry on feeding the bingers, people like me who enjoy a moderate two glasses of wine or the odd scotch pay more tax, but then thats Labour all over.

Anyhow way off subject I know,

Bob

It doesn't seem fair that the guy who sells the cards gets prosecuted. As I understand it, the cards he sold were official subscription cards not MOSCs or anything.

It is about time I think that there was a bit of a shake-up within Europe to enable anyone to subscribe to any other European satellite TV provider without the hassles. As long as a pub paid for a commercial subs rather than a home subs it should be made legal. Whatever happened to the Monopolies commission?

Sky really do seem to be taking the p!ss with how much they charge pubs etc, if they had a bit of competition, would they be able to do this? No they wouldn't!
Surely sky is an illegal monopoly. (in my dreams)

You are right robbo, Sly is a monopoly, but they must have very persuasive lobbyists. As long as the government are coining in the easy money from VAT on the Sly systems they will do nothing to harm Sly's monopoly. I reckon that whichever party is in power in the UK or Ireland they will not cut off their supply of VAT from new systems and I should think the payments made monthly, maybe someone could enlighten us as to whether they get VAT from the monthly payments.

If some other "public" service provider had the monopoly that Sly have they would not have it for very long. You only have to look at mobile phones, I rest my case.

Very best regards Wez

I would like to think that Richard Branson would be a strong contender on that one... Although he is in it for the money, I think he is still there for the people, but that is my opinion....
