think you need to try loading some official vantage firmware through the channel editor program.

if its like technomate you can clear some errors like this with reloading another firmware in the memory to clear it.

does it not boot so you can get into the menu to do a factory reset on the receiver ?

Hi Wod,

I have two computers ... a laptop and a netbook. I discovered that the laptop isn't happy doing the update thing, whereas the netbook handles it well (I think the problem is in the laptop not working well with my USB-to-serial adapter).
Anyway, I'm able to update the firmware, etc., using the newer computer. Thanks.

Oh, and I found on another forum that the file Vantage_00610076AOA was corrupt, and likely to produce the 4444 error.

I'm using the 00620083AOA on mine which has been fine for quite some time.

Hi im a complete squid when it comes to the uploading of software to my receiver and so far it hasnt worked by following the instructions on page 1 of this post so im after some help.
I have a ITST- X221CXCI Vantage Receiver
Loader Version 00010004
Software version 00.09.00.03A-O
Built April 2007

now the main reason i want to update the software, is that if i change the channel too fast the box just freezes up and needs a manual reset, at some point i might try a patch but at the momment i just want to flick through the channels without it freezing 18 times a day.

so i purchaesed a null modem cable and as the laptop didnt have a serial com port thing i purchases a USB2.0 to RS232 convertor and installed the software, after a quick try no joy, so i downloaded a programm to configure one of the USB ports to COM1
ive downloaded the channel editor and latest software file from the vantage site and also the latest list of channels.
when i do the up then open thing to upload the computer just beeps then says communication error, ive tried using the upload software facility or the receiver and it still beeps.

please can some one either talk me through alternative ideas or have i got a lost cause and wasted £160.00

much apprecition in advance, should any of you live in the greater Lanark area and want to come and tinker with the receiver i'll be pleased as punch to make the tea and sandwiches.

While it is beeping you need to turn the switch on and off at the back of receiver.

yes when you click to send the update file to the receiver through winup or the channel editor.

you need to turn on the receiver from the back and you will see it working as there will be a count on the led display as the file is being transferred once its finished loading you will see done on the display to show the receiver has been updated.
