I purchased the £159.99 package from Maplin yesterday, last one in stock at my local store.
Read through the specifications, etc and it says that the dish is wall mountable. The package i received doesn't have anyway of mounting it on a wall at all, only a floor mounting kit. Is this correct? Spoken to Maplin and they don't seem to know either, and have ordered me another kit as a replacement. Just wondering if anyone else had purchased this product, and whether you got a wall mount. Thanks RamsFan |

I think it is a dual purpose mount, i.e for the wall or floor.
If you are doing a motorised setup, chuck the thing away anyway, it is useless. Get a 2 inch diam pole and a couple of T&K brackets instead. It will be OK for a fixed dish. Is this what you bought?- Maplin > HD Satellite Free-To-Air Kit If that is not it, please link to a picture of the bracket, and I will confirm, as I bought my first kit from Maplin. Robbo.

Yep, thats the one.
There's a small rectangular piece with triangles either side that the pole fits into for the floor mount, 2 screws to fit into the floor, so theres no way it'll fit against a wall and have any support. I was thinking about motorising the dish, but where would i go about getting the brackets and the pole for a decent price? Sorry about all the questions, in here and the other thread, but thanks for all your help the same

Yes, it is a dual purpose mount, it can be fitted on the wall for a fixed dish, but for a motorised dish it would be very difficult to get vertical. I know as I tried, you might manage it if you're lucky.
The mount comes with a bent pole thing, a rectangular bit with triangular bits sticking out with holes in and two bracing pieces. The bottom of the pole goes in the rectangular thingy (that screws to the wall), the bracing pieces fit near the top of the pole and also to the wall. TLC direct do the T&K brackets, i think they're about £12 for the pair, you may have a depot nearby. If not just google, J W hardy also do them I believe. Ithink the brakets come with U-bolts for the pole, but check, you will also need some heavy duty wall anchor bolts. The pole can be got from a local scaffolders, just ring around until you find one that will sell you a length. I paid a quid a foot for mine. I have an 8ft length concreted into the ground.

Ok thanks.
I had a look at trying to fit it a wall, but couldn't work it out. The floor mount is very simple, but getting that onto the wall i couldn't grasp. :S I could get the pole onto the wall, but then it wasn't vertical. So how would the dish then fit to that? Maplin have T&K Brackets, £14.99, may get one soon. Looking to get a fixed dish up and working first, and then upgrade it. |

A bit like the picture below:-
Just use the U-bolts through the AZ/EL mount that comes with the dish to clamp to the pole.

Ah right thanks for that.
The instructions that i had got with the dish showed a different way of installing it, with a different wall bracket. Made it a lot clearer now, and i have also found an installation video guide. Thanks. |
