Default MUTE Err ?

I've got a Pace 4001 in N** area, talkback cut. Got the IRD and BK with a P&P LED SIMM. Got an Infinity programmer, with a couple of fun2 cards.

I've been thru the tuts and programmed them various ways, but each time the box displays that the smartcard isn't inserted correctly. When I go into engineers menu, the smartcard serial line changes from REMOVED to MUTE Err when the card is in. Whats this, i've tried various things. Have I got the BK the wrong way around or something?

Like spike said its usually card reader, you can only use rom bin file in exteep on a fun 2, hex files like rhv1 or toxic are too large you need a 4 for them.
If your trying to put them on card you will get mute err, or wrong area file .

That is all pretty much what i'm doing. I've took the n**.bn11 file, read it in nagraedit, changed the bits, saved it with .bin on the end, renamed it in windows to .bin, opened the writer, chose the Chaos v3 hex for flash, and the other file i'd saved as external eprom.

Only thing it may be is i'm not sure which way around the code for the box key should go from the P&P simm, although i've tried it each way around

If you look in downloads for led bk extractor it makes it easier, just click the lights the same as your simm card, then click extract.

you dont change it to .bin in windows, thats why you use the drop down and setit to all files. then you name the file test.bin test being what ever you want.... if you rename it in windows aswell you will have test.bin.bin then you will get mute err!

Well, I was saving it with .bin on the filename and it would then write this as .bin.bn11 , then removing the .bn11 in windows. I doubt doing it differently would change anything as it still ends up being the right filename, but i'll mess.

So, i'm using the A31r boxkey extractor on P&P sim, with 2 sets of boxkey lights. Confusing thing with this proggy is it says "Start this end" on the RH side... so do I copy the lights exactly as they are, reverse them, or reverse each set of 4? That'll narrow things down a bit as i've been trying each of the 3 methods at the mo
