hi i am trying 2 find a signal i have 90% level an only 20% quality i have looked on Satellite Dish Pointer / Alignment Calculator with Google Maps and for a motorised dish it says i should have the dish lined up with intelsat 10-02 . is ths right cause its still makin no differance . should i just go out an buy a sat finder > |

Well unless you are located in Afganistan or near, Intelsat 10 is not the sat you should be trying to set up on.
You need to find the sat that is nearest to due south from your location.

Intelsat 10-02 is at 1W, so yes that is nearly correct.
Except that you want to do it on Thor 2 at 0.8W ( my receiver doesn't differentiate between 0.8W and 1W as they are only 0.2 degrees apart) So just pick the transponder that BBC world is on at 11325H and do your alignment on that, after sending the dish to Thor using USALS. A satfindiner meter is not necessary, just arrange it so that you can see a TV screen showing the meter on your receiver. If you have problems finding Thor, send your dish to 13E instead and align it to that instead. When you have got that, send the dish back to Thor and re-adjust if necessary. |
