Default Cannot get ProgDVB to find any channels

Hi All,

I am trying to get cable on my PC. The machine's specs are:

Terratec Cinergy C HD DVB-C card
Vista 64-bit
ProgDVB 5.13.8 (32-bit)
vplug 2.1.5
up to date v_keys.db file

The steps that I have taken are:

1 Install ProgDVB, selecting BDA compatible card as the type

2 Create a transponder file (nthell dublin) with the right settings (taken from a dbox services.xml file)

3 Install vplug to progdvb's plugins directory

4 Copy in the v_keys.db file to the plugins directory

5 Start ProgDVB and select my provider, also check that vplug is active and says it has approx 650 rows in the db

6 Do a channel scan

The result is that the scan takes a very short time and nothing is found. The vplug monitor just reports the following:

PHP Code:
Date Message
[
03/09/2008 16:58:33]  ProgDvbNet: - Timeout on ECM-PID: $0000
[03/09/2008 16:58:33]  ProgDvbNet: - ECM filter has been stoped...
[
03/09/2008 16:58:34]  ProgDvbNet: - Noof keys in v_keys.db788
[03/09/2008 16:58:34]  ProgDvbNet: - Noof rows in v_sids.db0
[03/09/2008 16:58:34]  ProgDvbNet: - ProgDvbNet.exe  vPlug2.1.5
[03/09/2008 16:58:34]  ProgDvbNet: - vPlugs locationC:Program Files (x86)ProgDVBPlugins
[03/09/2008 16:58:34]  ProgDvbNet: - Working dirC:Program Files (x86)ProgDVBPlugins
[03/09/2008 16:58:34]  ProgDvbNet: - MD-API Version 01.02 1.06 [MD-API]
[
03/09/2008 16:59:33]  ProgDvbNet: - Change in files has been detected.
[
03/09/2008 16:59:33]  ProgDvbNet: - Noof keys in v_keys.db788
[03/09/2008 16:59:33]  ProgDvbNet: - Noof rows in v_sids.db
INterestingly when I go to scan the transponder I get 0% in the level bar but 100% in the quality bar.

I figure I must be missing somethinh fundamental but I can't figure it out myself. I hope you experts here might be able to give me a few pointers.

Thanks.

Hi Baz, first of all go to settings device list you should see something like Terratec bda tuner device, click on this and select enable, a green icon should appear on the left of it. your transponder file should have a name you recognise, in transponders select your file then select scan. btw is the symbol rate correct in the file you created? the scan should last a few mins, hope this helps!

Hi Willin,

Thanks for the reply. I am pretty sure that I had done that but I've since taken the card out and I'm going to try it in a different computer. I'll let you know how I get on.
