Wink Pole mounting info. required please

I am putting up an 80cm motorised dish on a 2" heavy duty pole made out of galvanised industrial tube. I have also fabricated "T" & "K" brackets from 1/4 thick steel angle which will be secured to the wall (Concrete block construction) with M8 Rawlbolts.
Question:
What is the minimum distance between the brackets?
What is the maximum height of the pole above the top bracket?
I am fitting the pole on a south facing gable end at the back of our bungalow and the dish will be below the main roof level which hopefully will break the wind pressure up .
Any advice would be appreciated

Hi rowlejohn,

If you are going to be below roof level on a south facing wall then something like nano's install should do you. I would say 1 metre long pole at the most.

NEW Pictures of members dish/receiver setups please!

You only really need to go longer and space brackets out more if going above roof height - to compensate for the bending moments on the pole.

Seems like you've done your homework. But remember:-

Get your pole bang vertical and the rest should be a doddle.

Hi rowlejohn, I would just add to Yorks good advice that you should not have the top bracket too near the top of the gable. If the dish is going to be below roof then I dont think the bracket will be too high. The bricks/blocks near the gable are quite easily dislodged by forces on the dish.

Have fun installing it all.

is it not possible to mount it near to the ground,
less chance of wind damage and much easier to adjust
mine is on a south facing garage wall 1mtr dish
the top of the dish is not higher than the roof
