Hi,

Came across this site whilst racking my brains in need of answers.

I am a complete newb and apologize if im asking stupid questions.

I have a dish and receiver which is set up to receive 13 degrees east for rai channels and i want to purchase a ART sport card for italian football.

The receiver i have is made by xtreme, it is silver, has an oval lcd window, on the right hand side is a pull down flap that has a card slot on top (like a sky card slot), then a slot that is blanked off and then a bigger slot underneath that( a CI slot?).

After searching through google images, i think it is either the xtreme hornet or XTSC-520 (although it does not have PDV on the front like the pics of this)

If i buy the ART sport card do i just insert the card and then watch to my hearts content, or do i need one of those viaccess cards (or would the receiver already be set up for this).

I have programmed the ART sport channels into the receiver but if i select them the screen is blank and a small box appears with viaccess in it.

Hope someone can help with this, i used to think i was good with technical stuff, but this is blowing my mind.

Hi, Welcome to the forum.

I have not heard of your receiver, perhaps a google search would bring up its capabilities.

It may be possible to use an ART card directly in your receiver, it may not. If it doesn't work you would need to purchase a suitable CAM module. Normally when cards are purchased the vendor will normally stipulate what CAM is required and sell them also.
The CAM module would slide into your bottom slot and the card would go into the CAM.

I think i will get the ART card and try it out.

is it worth me getting my dish motorized and getting Digitalb on 16' E

For more football, or do you think ART will be enough, i want it mainly for italian football.

The DigitAlb sports package is approx £150 for 12 months I believe.
