Default premiere to videoguard

it seems likely that in the next few weeks, premiere may change its encryption to videoguard, the same encryption $ky uses, looks like thats the end of another good package

For your information Sly uses NDS encryption, not videogard.

Could you please let us have the source of your information, it would be very intresting to read it.

Even though Rupert bought into Pr*m, they are under contract to use Nargra encryption, so the chances of them going to NDS, or Videogard is remote to say the least. You might have read something about them changing encryption, but if and when they do it will be to Nargra3.

Very best regards Wez

i know they use NDS Videoguard, i was just shortening it, it seems they could get out of the contract as thei current system has been compromised.

Hi finan,
Thanks for the link.

I can't see them going to the expense of paying for new boxes, paying for the NDS encryption and buying out of their contract with Nargra. It would seem to be a very drastic steep for them to take, when Nargra3 seems to be fairly stable at the moment.

Whatever they do there is nothing we can do to stop them. I have been in this game for a very long time now and have seen it all before, providers come and go, encryptions come and go, in the end we will have something to watch.

I don't believe for one moment that NDS is unhackable, it is just that the Sly juggernaut have every government where they operate in their pockets and have the use of the police forces in those countries. There are those out there who must have free Sly, but it would be very silly of them to let Tom, Dick and Harry have the hack for it.

Good luck and best wishes.

Very best regards Wez

Hi finton,
You can bet that the Sly spies are indeed monitoring each and every forum on the net. There are a great number of forums which have been forced to shut down. I do think that they, the Murdock Empire, have far too much influence in what governments do and until their monopoly is broken they will continue to bully anyone who stands in their way. I could go on forever, but I reckon that you will have got the idea of where I stand on the subject.

Very best regards Wez

Premiere going to NDS has been rumoured for months - I posted some info about it last year sometime. Most of the boxes will be upgraded via software downloads, leaving just a few thousand relic boxes that will have to be replaced.

Free Sky is easy - you get a linux receiver and join a card share ring. There are dozens of them out there - some pay ones as well as dozens of private ones between friends.

Very good AS, but you forget that I have no connection to the net from my boxes, just can't get it on there, but a very fair point for others to consider.

The storm is getting up again here all day, to be for worse tonight and just got as BBC alert about NI weather, so I expect that you will need to batten down the hatches there AS.

Thanks for that post it will help some others I am sure.

Very best regards Wez
